2007 Kairos Award WINNER: Global Voices
e martë, 19 qershor 2007
In ancient Greece, Kairos was a son of Zeus who had a penchant for seizing the day and acting at the most opportune moments. He is visually represented in sculpture as an athletic male with winged shoes, at rest but simultaneously poised to act. The Global Voices blog was selected selected because like Kairos, it takes advantage of the erasure of time and space barriers online to deliver thought-provoking and timely political commentary.
After racking up the second-highest score in the semifinals (90.5 points out of 100), Global Voices co-managing editor Solana Larsen chatted online with students during the final round of contest deliberations, where her blog garnered the votes of 54.5% of the students to finish in first place. Congratulations to the Global Voices team for a job well done!
