Evaluation Criteria

e diel, 3 qershor 2007

One of the most important elements of accurately measuring a blog's merit is to develop and apply grounded evaluation criteria. In our course on Weblog Advocacy, we consulted rhetorical theory and literature on blogging practice to develop a rubric for evaluation that foregrounds kairos - a fitting and timely response to a rhetorical situation - an urgent imperfection in society that calls forth speakers to contribute ideas.

The criteria that we came up with was based on seven factors (featured in the evaluation rubric that appears at the top of this page):

- Critical Thinking (25 points)
- Writing Quality (20 points)
- Timeliness (15 points)
- Emotion (10 points)
- Credibility (10 points)
- Social Responsibility (10 points)
- Intangibles (5 points)
